GLAN, SARANGANI — In the face of adversity, compassion shines brightest. Reaffirming its commitment to serving communities beyond its host areas, PMC-MMPRC Foundation, Inc. (PMFI) mobilized a relief mission on July 7, 2026, in Barangay Rio del Pilar to support families affected by the recent earthquake.
One thousand relief packs containing 5-kilo sacks of rice, corrugated sheets, pots, mats, blankets, water containers, and financial aid worth Php 3,383,330.00 pesos were distributed to affected households, providing immediate assistance as families begin rebuilding their lives.

"

“Naay tambal para sa balatian, kaldero para ilung-ag ang lima ka kilo nga bugas, naay habol kung bugnawon ug banig para higdaan, dakong tabang usab ang dugang sin para makatukod utro sa mga balay. Daghang salamat sa Philsaga ug sa atong mga sundalo nga nakaabot kamo sa among lugar.”

The relief operation was made possible through the collective efforts of the Philsaga Mining Hospital (PMH) staff headed by Dr. Randolph M. Lala who providws free medical check-up and medicine, the dedicated volunteers from the 1002nd Brigade, Infantry, Philippine Army, with the 73rd Infantry Battalion assisting at ground zero, led by Executive Officer MAJ Erick Wynmer F Calulot, together with the community partners such as UP Vanguard and Philsaga Press Corps Group, Inc. (PPCGI), whose shared commitment ensured that assistance reached those who needed it most.

Their collaboration reflects the spirit of bayanihan—where communities come together to bring hope amid uncertainty.

“At PMFI, we believe that our responsibility extends beyond development programs. In times of crisis, we stand with our fellow Filipinos, offering not only assistance but also hope and reassurance that they are not alone,” PMFI Executive Director Reygela M. Decalit emphasized as aftershocks continued during the event.

Through initiatives like this, PMFI continues to demonstrate that genuine corporate social responsibility is measured not only by the programs it implements but by the lives it touches. Together with its partners and stakeholders, the Foundation remains committed to building stronger, more resilient communities—showing that when people unite with compassion, hope grows stronger than any disaster.
