Illuminating Progress: Solar-Powered Streetlights Shine Bright in Barangay San Teodoro and San Andres
BUNAWAN, AGUSAN DEL SUR- Philsaga Mining Corporation successfully turned over sixty (60) units solar-powered streetlights to the Barangay Local Government Units of San Andres and San Teodoro with a total project cost of Php 572,908.11 for San Teodoro and Php 1,069,894.25 for San Andres. Through the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), the company showcased its commitment in improving public utilities and aid peace and order in the locality. The event, held on April 30, 2024 was attended by barangay officials, local residents, Mr. Marvin B. Mique representing the Municipal Local Government of Bunawan, and PMC representative TLCR Manager For. Gladess Dianne S. Buot together with the Community Relations staff.
The installation of solar-powered streetlights was prioritized by the barangay to combat crime and reduce accidents in the community, benefiting hundreds of residents. During the turnover ceremony, both San Andres and San Teodoro expressed heartfelt gratitude for the continuous support received from Philsaga Mining Corporation.
In his acceptance message, Hon. Candelario H. Salas, the punong barangay of San Andres, conveyed their appreciation, saying,
“Dako namo nga pasalamat sa kompanya sa kanunay nga pag-suporta sa kalambuan sa atong barangay. Kini nga proyekto ato ning amumahon og ampingan”. ("We're truly thankful to the company for always supporting the progress of our barangay. We pledge to take care of this project and ensure its safety").
This gesture underscores the importance of collaboration between the PMC and partner stakeholders in fostering development and security.
