Philsaga Mining Corporation and Philsaga Employees Association and Labor Union Mark Continued Partnership with Collective Bargaining Agreement

ROSARIO, AGUSAN DEL SUR – Philsaga Mining Corporation (PMC) and the Philsaga Employees Association and Labor Union (PSELU) reaffirmed their commitment to a harmonious and productive working relationship by formally signing their new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). While details of the new CBA are expected to be fully disclosed in the coming days, the negotiations indicate a strong focus on improving economic provisions, health and safety benefits, and other non-economic aspects that contribute to employee well-being and productivity.

This new agreement builds upon the foundation of the previous CBA, which was signed in June 2023 and included daily wage hikes, hazard pay, signing bonuses, and continued rice subsidies for its workers, effective until July 2028—reflecting the evolving needs of the employees and the company's operational capacity.

During the official signing, President Atty. Raul C. Villanueva emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating,
"

We have always believed ourselves to be TIGERs—Teamwork, Integrity, Growth, Excellence, and Responsibility. However, over the years, we seem to have forgotten the most important value of all: teamwork.

Through trust (pagsalig), commitment (pasalig), avoiding conflict (panagbangi), and ownership (panag-iya). These values, he said, are key to achieving real results and improving company performance. He also addressed internal issues, such as jealousy and selfish interests, urging employees to prioritize common goals over personal gain to preserve teamwork and morale.

The spirit of collaboration emphasized throughout the negotiation process underscores PMC's dedication to its employees, recognizing their vital role in the company's success as one of the leading gold producers in the region. Similarly, PSELU, affiliated with the Philippine Trade and General Workers Organization (PTGWO), continues to advocate for its members' rights and benefits, ensuring that fair labor practices are upheld. Representatives from both parties expressed optimism about the new agreement's positive impact on labor relations and the company's overall performance—a shared vision for a stable and prosperous future for all stakeholders.
