Tree Growing and Site Maintenance
On September 18, 2023, in a collaborative effort with the Agusan Del Sur Parole and Probation Office, PMC (Philsaga Mining Corporation) organized and conducted a tree growing and site maintenance activity at the Sinug-ang Relocation Site. This joint endeavor focused on reforestation and resulted in the successful planting of 350 white lauan seedlings and 50 grafted rambutan seedlings.
The tree growing and site maintenance activity was a reflection of the shared commitment between PMC and the Agusan Del Sur Parole and Probation Office towards rehabilitation, reforestation, and the creation of a more sustainable future for all. Through this collaboration, both organizations aimed to contribute to the restoration of natural habitats and the promotion of environmental conservation.
By planting 350 white lauan seedlings and 50 grafted rambutan seedlings, the initiative made a significant impact on the ecosystem of the Sinug-ang Relocation Site. These seedlings have the potential to grow into mature trees, providing essential benefits such as biodiversity support, carbon sequestration, and soil erosion prevention. Moreover, the activity reaffirms PMC's commitment to responsible mining practices and environmental stewardship.
PMC's collaborative efforts with the Agusan Del Sur Parole and Probation Office highlight the importance of partnerships in driving positive change. By working together, organizations can leverage their resources and expertise to make a greater impact on environmental preservation. This initiative serves as an inspiring example for others, showcasing the significance of collective action in achieving sustainability goals.
The tree growing and site maintenance activity at the Sinug-ang Relocation Site is a testament to PMC's commitment to making a positive contribution to the environment through responsible mining practices and reforestation efforts. By actively engaging in activities that promote ecosystem rehabilitation and sustainability, PMC sets an example for others in the industry to follow, demonstrating that mining and environmental conservation are not mutually exclusive.
