
5TH ANNUAL REGULAR GENERAL ASSEMBLY of PGECC MPC
ROSARIO, AGUSAN DEL SUR - On March 21, 2026, the PGECC Multipurpose Cooperative, the cooperative exclusive to regular employees of the Philsaga Group of Companies, successfully held its 5th Annual Regular General Assembly Meeting, marking another milestone in its continued growth and development.
Eager members started arriving even before 11am to register and participate in the meeting. Around 500 members attended in person. The Board of Directors, led by Chairperson Marie Glenn Cedeño-Sorila, presided over the meeting. Each of the Committee Heads presented their reports to update the general membership on the cooperative’s performance in 2025 and inform them of plans for 2026.
Highlighted during the event was the cooperative’s transition into a Multipurpose Cooperative, a goal that PGECC has been steadily and steadfastly working on the past years. With the conversion into an MPC, PGECC is poised to further expand its services and add other businesses to its portfolio for it to grow bigger and earn more profits for the benefit of its members and other stakeholders. In the pipeline are a travel agency and a commissary that will serve mainly the Philsaga Group of Companies.
During the program, Chairperson Atty. Sorila expressed her sincere gratitude to all members for their continued trust and support. She emphasized the importance of unity and active participation in sustaining the cooperative’s success. The event also featured a raffle draw with various prizes, the distribution of dividends and patronage refunds to qualified members, and the awarding of members who fully paid their maximum subscribed shares.
Looking ahead, the cooperative announced a significant change in its sharing scheme as it enters its 6th year of operation. The distribution of net income will be adjusted from the current 30% to 70%, providing greater financial returns to members and further strengthening the cooperative’s commitment to inclusive growth and shared prosperity.
The assembly concluded on a positive note, reflecting the cooperative’s strong direction and its dedication to delivering improved services and benefits to all its members.
