Enhancing Emergency Response Readiness through Rope Rescue Training

ROSARIO, AGUSAN DEL SUR – The Mindanao Mineral Processing and Refining Corporation (MMPRC), through its Safety Department, conducted a 3-Day Rope Rescue Training on June 18–20, 2026, facilitated by the Standard Technical Advanced Rescue Training (START) team. The training was attended primarily by members of the company’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) as part of their continuing development and preparedness program.

The activity aimed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and operational capabilities of ERT personnel in technical rope rescue. As front-line responders, ERT members are vital to employee safety, making continuous training essential for maintaining response readiness and effective action.

During the three-day training, participants engaged in discussions and practical exercises covering rope rescue fundamentals, knot tying, rope management, anchor system setup, ascending and descending techniques, patient packaging, rescue planning, and high- and low-angle rescue operations. ERT members also participated in rescue simulations to improve decision-making, teamwork, communication, and situational awareness.

The training provided hands-on experience, enabling ERT personnel to apply rescue procedures with emphasis on safety, risk assessment, and equipment inspection. These activities enhanced participants’ confidence and competence in performing rescues in challenging environments.

By investing in the continuous development of its Emergency Response Team, MMPRC reaffirms its commitment to emergency preparedness and workplace safety. This initiative ensures ERT members remain equipped to respond effectively to emergencies, supporting the company’s goal of maintaining a safe and resilient working environment.
