ROSARIO, AGUSAN DEL SUR - Nothing compares to the PMC's Tiger spirit as 15 competing departments and contractors showcased their CPR excellence during the PMC National Disaster Resilience and National CPR Day Celebration held at Mines Covered Court last July 29, 2025.

 

In observance of the national celebration, the Safety and Health Department- Compliance and Emergency Management (CEM) Section initiated various events to hone the knowledge and skills of PMC employees with regards to Standard First-Aid, Basic Life Support, Bandaging, Lifting, and techniques on situational Emergency Response. The event was attended by our official organizing team from the Philippine Red Cross- Agusan del Sur Chapter, headed by Mr. Leo Pingco, and was also supported by the presence of the managers and top management, headed by the Safety and Health manager, Engr. Clement M. Chiu, who welcomed the participating teams and Resident Manager Engr. Alvin B. Castaños shared his Inspirational Talk for the event.

"The importance of this is our awareness, our preparation, and also how we can withstand the disasters we'll face…that's why we should always think about how we contribute through being resilient to the company," he expressed.

 

 

The competition declared the Electrical and Mechanical Department as the Champion for the series of responses, followed by CMSED, Kublai Khan, Marilag, and Timberland Security Agencies, points away from the 2nd runner-up Philsaga Mining Hospital and Shaft maintenance, and the 3rd runner-up Human Resource and ICT department. The winners received a plaque, certificates, and a cash prize during the award ceremony.

 

The CEM section Head, Engr. Renan N. Bronio also gave his words of gratitude to the extreme support of the participating departments, who continually make safety their way of life, not just for compliance, but also for their help in maintaining a safe and conducive workplace at the company.
