MMPRC-SDMP: Empowering Barangay Maligaya with Life-Saving Emergency Rescue Vehicle

ROSARIO, AGUSAN DEL SUR –On May 20, 2024, the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Maligaya in Rosario, Agusan del Sur, received a One-unit Barangay Emergency Rescue Vehicle (ERV). This significant donation, facilitated through the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) of the Mindanao Mineral Processing and Refining Corporation (MMPRC), includes accessories valued at Php 644,917.06. The rescue vehicle, a crucial addition to the community, is intended to significantly enhance essential health services in the barangay, particularly in emergencies, thereby improving the overall well-being of the residents. 

PMC/MMPRC Holds Public Scoping for the Planned Expansion

Led by PMC/MMPRC Vice President Engr. A. Cortes and Resident Manager Engr. Alvin B. Castaños, key stakeholders – including representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Office, Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Indigenous Peoples groups, local government units (municipal and barangay), the Provincial Government Office, and various non-government organizations – were invited to have a meaningful discussion on the relevant views on the environmental, social and economic impact of the planned expansion. The issues and concerns raised during the Public Scoping will be carefully considered in decision-making, ensuring that mitigation measures, development benefits, and opportunities for affected communities are effectively addressed.
