MMPRC Conducts Fire Drill in Support of Fire Safety Compliance

ROSARIO, AGUSAN DEL SUR — Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to workplace safety and emergency preparedness, the Safety and Health Department – Mill Section successfully facilitated a Fire Drill at the Administration Building led by CEM Section Head, Engr. Renan N. Bronio. Employees from various departments actively participated, highlighting the company’s collective dedication to maintaining a safe and resilient working environment. Prior to the drill, personnel assigned to the Administration Building attended a Fire Safety Orientation conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Rosario Fire Station. The orientation provided valuable insights into fire prevention, emergency response procedures, and appropriate actions during fire incidents, further enhancing personnel awareness and preparedness.

Preparedness Saves Lives

The Mindanao Mineral Processing and Refining Corporation (MMPRC) conducted a full-scale fire drill at the ECS compound on 19 March 2026, demonstrating its strong commitment to emergency preparedness. The Safety and Health Department led the activity, and the Bureau of Fire Protection Rosario supported the exercise.

Safety Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign on First Responder Training

The Mindanao Mineral Processing and Refining Corporation successfully conducted a three (3)-day First Responder Training on March 16-18, 2026, as part of its ongoing Safety IEC Campaign. The Safety Department facilitated an activity to strengthen employees' knowledge, skills, and preparedness for responding effectively to various emergency situations.

MMPRC Strengthens Barangay Health Services with Turnover of Medicines and Medical Apparatus

Mindanao Mineral Processing and Refining Corporation (MMPRC), through its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), turned over essential medicines to Barangay Wasian and medical apparatus to Barangay Libuac at a ceremony on March 13, 2026. The initiative enhances healthcare delivery in these communities. It provides Barangay Wasian with essential medicines for common illnesses and equips Barangay Libuac with medical equipment to improve emergency response and routine health services.

PMC Holds Three-Day Information Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign to Strengthen Emergency Response Readiness

The program featured structured discussions, hands-on evaluations, and simulation exercises designed to reinforce practical skills aligned with the company’s core values of Growth. Including Standard First Aid (bandaging, lifting, and CPR), discussed by Mr. Reymart M. Go and Mr. Christian Jay T. Baliad; proper operation of fire extinguishers and hydrants, facilitated by Mr. Louvibel R. Taganas and Mr. Julius S. Blanca; and communication, discussed by Mr. Laurence L. Sandoval. Following the activity, 23 employees from PMC and its service contractors Nitro Pacific Rockworks, Inc., Unicenter, Mount Rock Powder Corporation, Orica, Prime, and Optijobs Manpower Agency received certificates. They were recognized as certified PMC First Emergency Responders.

BASIC OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH (BOSH) TRAINING

The BOSH program is a comprehensive training module for manufacturing companies. It provides employees with the skills to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement controls—preventing accidents and loss of productivity. By reducing incidents and improving safety awareness, the program supports employee well-being and protects company resources. Through ongoing education and a robust Safety and Health Management System, MMPRC fosters a safe and productive workplace for all.
