MMPRC Conducts Fire Drill in Support of Fire Safety Compliance

ROSARIO, AGUSAN DEL SUR — Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to workplace safety and emergency preparedness, the Safety and Health Department – Mill Section successfully facilitated a Fire Drill at the Administration Building led by CEM Section Head, Engr. Renan N. Bronio. Employees from various departments actively participated, highlighting the company’s collective dedication to maintaining a safe and resilient working environment. Prior to the drill, personnel assigned to the Administration Building attended a Fire Safety Orientation conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Rosario Fire Station. The orientation provided valuable insights into fire prevention, emergency response procedures, and appropriate actions during fire incidents, further enhancing personnel awareness and preparedness.

PMC President Atty. Raul C. Villanueva emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating: “For the Bunawan tribe to prosper, the LGU, the Bunawan tribe, and PMC need to be united to realize the development we aim for the tribe. Once the cultural center is constructed, the BMADMCI will have the opportunity to properly impart their ancestral traditions.” PMFI Executive Director Reygela M. Decalit emphasized, “The center is more than bricks and concrete; it is a symbol of our commitment to build knowledge, preserve the rich Manobo culture, and empower the future.”

Biodiversity Management Bureau - Caraga (BMB- Caraga): Pilot testing for Reference Ecosystem and Biodiversity Expenditure Tagging

Philsaga Mining Corporation, in collaboration with the DENR UNDP/GEF Biodiversity Corridor Project, began piloting procedures to establish a Reference Ecosystem and implement Biodiversity Expenditure Tagging within the mining tenement from March 9–13, 2026. This activity supports DENR Administrative Order No. 2022-04, which requires mining companies to designate 5% of their approved tenements as Biodiversity Reference Ecosystems.

Safety Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign on First Responder Training

The Mindanao Mineral Processing and Refining Corporation successfully conducted a three (3)-day First Responder Training on March 16-18, 2026, as part of its ongoing Safety IEC Campaign. The Safety Department facilitated an activity to strengthen employees' knowledge, skills, and preparedness for responding effectively to various emergency situations.

Preparedness Saves Lives

The Mindanao Mineral Processing and Refining Corporation (MMPRC) conducted a full-scale fire drill at the ECS compound on 19 March 2026, demonstrating its strong commitment to emergency preparedness. The Safety and Health Department led the activity, and the Bureau of Fire Protection Rosario supported the exercise.

First Cycle EMS Internal Audit 2026

The First Cycle of the Environmental Management System (EMS) Internal Audit for 2026 was successfully conducted last February 16–25, 2026, as part of the company’s continuing commitment to strengthen compliance and effective implementation of the EMS. Led by Engr. Mark Angelo M. Agustin and Engr. Marriah Alexei V. Baguio from the Audit and Systems Improvement Department, under the guidance of Engr. Mary Divine Grace S. De La Peña, Environmental Compliance Officer.
