Agriculture is the backbone of many rural communities in the Philippines, providing livelihoods and food security.  In the Barangay of Consuelo in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, a group of farmers is benefitting from a project that aims to provide them with the necessary resources to support sustainable agriculture.

The Provision of Rubber Seedlings project, implemented on August 18, 2021, with a total cost of Php 300,000.00, targets 17 farmers in the community.  The project aims to provide the beneficiaries with rubber seedlings, necessary inputs, and training on sustainable rubber farming practices.

By providing the necessary resources and training, the project aims to support the livelihoods of small-scale farmers while promoting sustainable agricultural practices that benefit both the environment and local communities.  Rubber farming is a valuable and sustainable agricultural activity, providing income, and environmental benefits such as preventing soil erosion and improving soil quality.  The project has a multiplier effect, as the beneficiaries can use their income to support their families and invest in their communities.  Additionally, the sustainable farming practices promoted by the project can contribute to food security and the conservation of natural resources.
