PHILIPPINE ARMY EOD BATTALION STAGES LIVE IED DETONATION DURING LESP TRAINING AT PHILSAGA MINING CORPORATION

ROSARIO, AGUSAN DEL SUR - As part of its continued commitment to strengthening the capabilities of its Security and Enforcement Group (SEG), Philsaga Mining Corporation (PMC) hosted a specialized Improvised Explosive Device (IED) orientation and live detonation demonstration on June 5, 2025, at the SEG Office. The training formed part of the ongoing License to Exercise Security Profession (LESP) program, with the Philippine Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Battalion serving as guest trainers.

The session began with a detailed lecture from experienced EOD personnel, who provided an overview of the threats posed by IEDs in both rural and urban security environments. Emphasizing awareness, risk mitigation, and operational safety. The highlight was a live detonation demonstration led by MSgt Mardan D. Pilapil and his team. Conducted in a secured area, the demonstration simulated real-life scenarios in explosive disposal operations. Ronald S.
