The Agrivet Supply Project Brings New Opportunities for Backyard Hog Growers

For many rural communities in the Philippines, backyard hog raising is an important source of income and food. However, accessing the necessary supplies and equipment can often be a challenge, limiting the growth, and profitability of the industry.
This is where the Agrivet Supply project comes in. Implemented on November 16, 2021, in the barangays of San Teodoro, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, the project aimed to provide 66 members of the San Teodoro Backyard Hog Growers Association with the necessary supplies to improve their operations.
With a project cost of Php 804,405.00, the Agrivet Supply project provided the beneficiaries with a range of items, including feed, vitamins, dewormers, and other essential supplies. The project also provided training and technical assistance to help the hog growers improve their practices and increase their yields.
By providing access to essential supplies and knowledge, the project has helped to improve the profitability and sustainability of the backyard hog industry in San Teodoro, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur. The beneficiaries were able to improve the health and productivity of their hogs. This, in turn, led to increased income and improved food security for their families. Moreover, the Agrivet Supply project helped to build a sense of community among the hog growers, as they worked together to improve their operations and share their knowledge and experiences. This sense of camaraderie and collaboration is critical to the success and sustainability of any industry.
